Wife and I went for our 7th anniversary. We live just an hour away, but wanted a special day. The night clerk was INCREDIBLE. I wish I could remember her name :( but I can't. The room was very clean, the pool was quite cold (expected) but also clean and well-maintained. The warm cookies were also very, very good! Last time we stayed at the San Louis, and paid a LOT more. It was a terrible visit! The room was not very clean, the shower was filthy (bodily fluids on the floor), and the staff/manager were all unwilling to help us. I would STRONGLY recommend saving a few bucks and staying at the DoubleTree in lieu of the San Louis. We will certainly be back!

Even though the ocean is very noisy, the rooms had very thick doors and walls which made them nice and quiet. I loved the big comfy pillows and our king size bed was very comfortable. The sheets were crisp and cool and I love the big TV and the easy to use remote for it. I loved having our own little balcony. That was very nice. I slept better here than I have slept in a long time.

location - but we should not have paid so much - there were cheaper hotels ...... we only booked there because of the bar - WE all booked rooms there because the manager told Tom Shields (a guest ) that the bar would stay open past 10 if people were there. So we all arrived at 10 after our school reunion. And you guys were closing. Tom explained that is why we all - (about 15 people ) booked there. So this was disappointing.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were all nice , professional, and wanted to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. I received text communication throughout the day asking how was the stay, and if we needed anything don't forget to reach out to let them know. Professional and available loved it

I loved the proximity to the beach. A five minute walk across the road. I loved the balcony facing the beach. Everything was tidy and clean.

The room balconies are what keeps bringing us back. The view can't be beat. It's a great location - the beach is right across the street and several restaurants are nearby. And love the little orange refrigerator.!
